Following an unsuccessful funding application, we supported SSF to apply for funding from the National Lottery Awards for All fund. Their application was successful, enabling them to deliver a two year project.
The Connect project run by 10 volunteers was designed to bring people together to meet and socialise over lunch. The lunches held twice a month at Sutton Lodge Day Centre gave residents the opportunity to come together for a healthy lunch and connect with others. The lunches also provided a great space for residents to find out more about different activities taking place in the local area. The funding also provided much needed transport for residents with restricted mobility, ensuring those who felt less able were more confident in attending.
