Successful launch of a local Community Food Cupboard

 
Horizon Church has opened its doors to help the diverse community with supporting the needs identified through various engagements.

With thanks to the funding from the Winter engagement Fund, Horizon Church was able to provide soup and a welcome space which lead to improved community engagement and the opportunity for local residents to come to together to enjoy a nutritious meal.  Having identified a need for something like this in the community, this lead to a new initiative called Monday Moments. New volunteers signed up to help support this initiative and it now self-sustained with regular attendees enjoying healthy meals whilst socialising with new found friends.

With additional funding from the Core 20 Plus fund a Community Food Cupboard was set up. Over 20 local residents attended the launch of the new community food cupboard with many sharing their experiences of struggles with food shortages.

The event was a huge success with many residents engaging with partners and finding about more about local services available to them.
